Association of Fundraising Professionals

Social Media Content

During my time as a junior and senior student, I was president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) at Flagler College. This national organization represents more than 30,000 members in over 230 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.  The association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.

Our signature event that AFP hosts each month is called the Lion's Den where we hold a food pantry for Flagler students who are low on funds or do not have a car to drive to the food store. I created this social media graphic to advertise the event to students. By posting it across the Flagler Facebook class pages, I was able to get further reach.

Below is an article I wrote featuring the Lion's Den event and AFP complete with a call to action to get more involved members.

The poster and social media graphic above advertises a movie screening we hosted with the Citizen's Climate Lobby. As a fundraising club we like to provide space for students to network with professionals in the nonprofit sector and ask questions. With the documentary film being about sea level rise, I created the graphics to reflect this. The white text contrasts from the grey background to make information easy to read while passing by or scrolling past.

One of our larger events this semester was the Halloween Dodgeball Tournament fundraiser benefiting the Make-a-Wish Foundation. AFP teamed up with the Student Athlete Association to host the tournament. Our goal was to get 20 teams to sign up with 6 to 8 players each. With this social media graphic, word of mouth marketing and other posters, we had a great turn out.
